At 82 Labs, our goal is to use science to help you feel energized, stay productive, and be your best. We are devoted to tackling real world problems with academic rigor and technical innovation. With help from our advisors at the University of Southern California (USC), we launched our first product, Morning Recovery, aimed at liver health and productivity.
Earlier this year, we announced our partnership with USC’s School of Pharmacy as we donated $230,000 to form the 82 Labs Inc. Research Fund. Our advisors, Dr. Liang and Dr. Davies, are using this donation to drive innovation in finding novel applications for dihydromyricetin (DHM) beyond Morning Recovery.
Today, we are excited to announce our new Scientific Advisory Board to continue on our promise to harness the latest research, proprietary extraction methods, and proven ingredients to help you be your best. They will advise on developing safe, effective, and innovative products that work. Take a look at who makes up the leadership team:
Dr. Jing Liang, MD, PhD: Dr. Liang has over 25 years of experience in drug development across China, Japan and North America. Currently at USC, her achievements include discovering novel methods for treatment of CNS disorders like Alzheimer’s, Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) and other anxiety disorders. Her longstanding research with AUD in particular has led to over 30+ publications, with even more to come.
Dr. Daryl Davies, PhD: Dr. Davies is a Professor and the Director of the MS program in Management of Drug Development at USC. He has over 30 years of experience within the drug discovery & development space. With funding from the National Institute of Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), Dr. Davies leads his team in developing solutions to treat Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD).
Dr. Chris Alford, Msc, PhD: Dr. Alford’s research has a strong focus on sleep, fatigue, and alcohol hangovers in psychopharmacology. With experience as a consultant and scientific advisor to pharmaceutical companies, his work spans across 3 continents and over 150 publications. He is an associate professor at the University of West England (UWE).
Dr. Joris Verster, PhD: Dr. Verster has a track record of clinical trials examining the effects of CNS drugs and psychoactive substances on cognitive and psychomotor functioning, mood, and daily activities (such as driving a car). He has conducted extensive research into the causes and consequences of alcohol hangovers. He is an associate professor at Utrecht University.
Dr. Marc Lemay, PhD: Dr. Lemay is a consultant in the dietary supplement industry. Previously, he was a global technology scout where he designed and conducted a dozen controlled clinical trials in the U.S., Japan, and South Korea. Lemay holds a PhD degree in Experimental Neuropsychology from the University of Montreal.
We are looking forward to working with the advisory board as we set our sights on an expansion to our product line. This is just the beginning!
